Ani Antonova was born in Chirpan in 1986.
She graduated Portuguese philology at Sofia University, Multimedia at “die Graphische” and Master in Experimental Media at the St. Pölten University of Applied Sciences.
She works as producer and director of animation films.
Her first documentary animation film “The Outlander” was screened at many international film festivals and received several awards, among them: best animation film at the International Fine Arts Film Festival in Santa Barbara (2021, USA), the jury’s award for best narrative animation in Vienna and three audience awards at different festivals in Austria.
Her second animation film “Cornucopia” has received the Jury’s Stellar Award for animation at Thomas Edison Film Festival 2023.
As an active member of the association “KOPFKINO”, she creates animation films, animation sculptures and interactive installations. Her work embraces the animation in its different states of matter.
